Man O War Gets Inaugurated In FUO



Bayelsa State Man-O-War has commissioned the FUO sector command to conduct its activities of student policing and support of the institutions security structures.

The event which took place on campus was attended by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Seth Accra Jaja through his representative, the Dean of Student Life, Dr. Joseph Omoro.



In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor thanked personnel of FUO man-O-War for their efforts in creating the sector command which has joined FUO to the league of Nigerian Universities through the student security outfit, he further stated that the University management is ready to give maximum support to the students who have made themselves available to serve.

Prof. Seth Accra who also functioned as the review officer of the ceremony called on all students to emulate the Man-O-War and partner with management in the area of security on campus.

He concluded by expressing delight with the groups displaying during the parade and encouraged them to continuously strive for the best while thanking members of the University who were present at the event for their support.

Also speaking at the event, representative of the Bayelsa State Man-O-War command, Mr. Edonyaba Pereama also the assistant training officer of the state command thanked the Vice Chancellor and his team for approving activities of Man-O-War in FUO, he conveyed the positive impressions of the state command adding that his group will make the University proud.

“I am happy that today we have inaugurated Man-O-War in FUO and the group will assist in ensuring security of lives and properties on campus” he said.



He concluded by appealing to management to fulfill its pledge to support the group in order o ensure it functions properly. The event witnessed the investiture of the patron status on some staff members.

In his vote of thanks the Commandant of the Division Mr. Kenneth Omo Isibor thanked the University management for their support and also expressed gratitude to those present for honouring the invitation while promising that the division will do its best to support the University’s security unit to protect lives and properties on campus.
