Allow Everyone Write The Exam Or No Exam At All - SUG President

The second congress of the Student union government which held today was poorly attended though furnished with the heavy presence of all member of the Three Arms of the Union and other leaders such as faculty presidents, departmental reps. and ethnic leaders.

Among all issues raised was the issue of payment of school fee and the stand of the school management against students who have not paid their fees yet, preventing them from writing their exams.

Comr. Millow expressed his sadness in the attitude of the entire students of FUO in responding to the congress and said the Aluta consciousness of FUO students is too poor.

"It is very sad and a bad thing that a congress was announced by the SUG to deliberate on serious issues plaguing the students of which about 1,000 students are affected and yet students could not attend. Now these same students will go online to say the SUG is not working and say other derogatory things about the government."


 "For instance, the school management has declined all students who have not paid their school fee from writing the exams, their names will not even be typed in the exam attendance list and yet, a congress was called so that these students could suggest other ways to go about it as the student union government is running out of options with the government and yet this same students for whom we are fighting for could not turn up and they expect us to fight for them when they are not ready to fight for themselves" the president said.

In a bid to salvage the issue, the president called on every student of FUO to come to the Union secretariat on Monday by 7am.

I cannot call for protest because some negative elements might hijack it and disrupt it's peace but then, I am calling on the entire students of FUO to gather at the Union secretariat on Monday by 7am for Alutarization and when the spirit of aluta comes, we shall take it up from there. We shall protest when I see at least one thousand students on Monday after which we shall proceed to the admin block to make the school management allow every student pay their fees, including those who haven't paid their fees because injury to one is injury to all. The congress which was originally scheduled for one hour thirty minutes (1hr, 30min) ended up lasting for 2hrs. 30mins.
