No Student Should Protest On Monday - SUG

The student union government did not call for protest and is not in support of any protest to be carried out by any group of persons within or outside the school environment.

It was gathered that some group of students who were not able to meet up with the deadline extension period for payment of school fees and registration of courses are beginning to mobilize themselves to stage a protest on Monday 7th May, 2018.

The president of the SUG Comr. Millow Richard A. while speaking to our correspondent on phone yesterday refuted calling for any other protest and advised every student to ignore such calls from anyone.


In his words “The SUG did not call for any other protest. Even the first one we did was a risk and the management after giving us the extension period warned that if we should protest again, all academic activities in the school will be shut down indefinitely and everyone will be asked to go home."

He went further to state that the Student Union Government is not ready to risk the academic future of the students any more as this issue has elongated the first semester to seven (7) months now.

"We can no longer risk the academic life of over 6,000 students again at the expense of a few students. The school management has the legal backings to do whatever they are doing now if you read your handout. Any student protesting now is doing that on his/her own risk." he said.

When asked what will be the fate of those that were not able to pay up their fees would be, the president assured that he and his executives are still making moves to make the management allow them register their courses even without paying their fees as the NUC law states that no student should write an exam for a course he/she did not register for.

The president asked all students to prepare fully for their exams and ignore every call for protest as every development related to this issue will be communicated back to them as soon as possible.
