Progressive greetings to the fervid journalists of national sanity, the leadership of the union  in adherence  to one of the objectives of its establishment in ensuring the development of journalistic skills, widening of knowledge and capacity building of campus journalists hereby announces  the dates and venues and activities for its regional conventions which are as highlighted below:

Theme: Rethinking the Role of the Mass Media towards Sustainable National Development.

ACTIVITIES OF THE CONVENTION

SOUTH WEST/SOUTH SOUTH & NORTH EAST/NORTH WEST

DATE: Thurs. Oct.18 - Sat. Oct.20, 2018.

• 18thThursday, October

Arrival(4pm), Film show, Dinner.

• 19th Friday, October

Breakfast 8am-9am
Morning Lecture 10am-12:30pm
Lunch/Break 12:30-2pm.
Afternoon Lecture 2:30-5pm
Hangout: 6-7:30pm
Dinner 8pm

• 20th Saturday, October

Morning Games : (Indoor games, Football novelty match)
Quiz, Spelling Bee, Pun with prizes
Manifesto and Election of the new Regional Secretary

CONVENTION FEE:

One Thousand Naira Only (#1,000)

We humbly solicit that payments should be made before the commencement of the conventions (latest Wednesday 17th October) in order to meet up with all supposed logistics.

NORTH CENTRAL/SOUTH EAST(UNILORIN)

Note: There is a little change in the supposed date of NORTH CENTRAL/SOUTH EAST(UNILORIN). The new date is 19th-21st of October instead of  the initially proposed 18th-20th.

Meanwhile, the dates for SOUTH WEST/SOUTH SOUTH & NORTH WEST/NORTH EAST remain on the 18th-20th.

SOUTH WEST & SOUTH SOUTH:
Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Rivers State.

VENUE: Federal University of Agricultural Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

NORTH CENTRAL & SOUTH EAST:
Abia, Anambra, Benue, Ebonyi, Enugu, FCT, Imo, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa and Plateau State.

VENUE: University of Ilorin, Kwara State (UNILORIN)

NORTH WEST & NORTH EAST:
Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Taraba and Yobe State.

VENUE: Bayero University Kano, Kano State.
